St. Nikolaos Church

The Church of St. Nicholas in Safita (popularly known as the Church of Mar Nicholas) is one of the important spiritual and historical monuments in Tartous Governorate, and it has an exceptional status as the first parish of the Melkite Greek Catholic community to be established on the Syrian coast. It was built in 1925 on land owned by the Al-Khoury family in the Byzantine style.
