The Church of St. John the Baptist

The Church of St. John the Baptist in Safita (commonly known as the Parish of St. John) is one of the historical and very active parishes in Tartous. It belongs to the Melkite Greek Catholic Church and forms an essential part of the city's spiritual community, along with its sister church, St. Nicholas.
