Mari

Tell al-Hariri is an ancient city located in the Deir ez-Zor Governorate in eastern Syria. The city was the capital of the Kingdom of Mari, which existed in Bronze Age Syria around 2900 BC. The city flourished as one of the most important commercial centers between 2900 and 1759 BC.
