
One of the theaters of Damascus and one of the oldest and most prestigious theaters, located on 29 May Street and affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, presents serious performances of Syrian, Arab and international literature. Al-Qabbani Theater is named after the pioneer of Arab theater, Abu Khalil Al-Qabbani, who presented his first theatrical performances in Damascus and established the first Arab theater in 1871 AD. Performances by major Syrian and international artists were presented and performed on the stage of Al-Qabbani Theater. In the main lobby of the theater, there is a portrait and pictures of the famous pioneer of Syrian and Arab theater, Abu Khalil Al-Qabbani, and many pictures of international and Syrian plays and pictures of major Syrian artists and directors who had their theatrical performances in Al-Qabbani Theater.
