St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church (Qatina)

The Old Monastery Church (pre-15th century): Historical church documents and ancient manuscripts confirm that the current church was built on the site of the ancient "Church of the Monastery of the Prophet John the Baptist." The monastery was once surrounded by "some mud-brick dwellings inhabited by monks," from whom emerged prominent religious figures, such as Bishop Joachim ibn Ma'tuq.
